Sunday March 28th et al...

April 1st:
Jocelyn here. I'm sitting at the U of W on my last day of classes. Got nowhere to be, so I'm doing nothing but listening to music (catching up on heavily recommended items) & digging through all the dirt to make a complete listing of upcoming concerts for the next couple months. Right now I'm listening to one of the marching bands Mama Cutsworth recommended to me - Youngblood Brass Band. Oh man! They are so good! Like, hiphop with a marching band base.

Anyway, I've got alot of playlists to get off my chest. I keep doing things like leaving my flashdrive at the station & going out of town, but mostly just forgetting. I'm lame.

This March 28th show was really good. We played alot of good stuff & it flowed really well.

Ted Leo & The Pharmacists - The Mighty Sparrow
Millencolin - Fox
Murder By Death - Foxglove
The Gaslight Anthem - American Slang
Mos Def - Habitat
Grand Analog - Spaces & Places
The Herd - Ray Of Sun
The Living End - Second Solution
Vampire Weekend - Giving Up The Gun
Ultramega - Juicy/Big Poppa
The National Parcs - Powerlines
Mumford & Sons - Hold On To What You Believe
Greg MacPherson - Travelling Style
Bliss N Eso - Zion Bash
Quagmire - Cocaine Shakes
The Balconies - Elephant Lump
We Are The City - Peso Loving Squid
The Cat Empire - The Wine Song
Less Than Jake - Gainesville Rock City

(Two sidenotes: we finally got to play the Wine Song. And we played 4 Australian bands, though we meant to play Oka as well. The more I thought about it, the more I was thinking it would be really easyto play upwards of 8 Aussie bands if we threw in Xavier Rudd, Blue King Brown & the like. I friggin love Aussie music!)
(Also: NEW TED LEO!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEIIIIII!!!!)

March 21st was my personal St Patrick's day show. I was away the week before celebrating in Boston. My friend Jess & I have seen the Dropkick Murphys about 3 or 4 times before, sometimes here & sometimes at Warped Tour in Minneapolis. These were still some of the best shows we've ever been to! We now know more about them than ever before, including which ones were in AA, which ones are Canadian & where exactly their pub is located. (Though we couldn't tell you the way home from the pub!)
This is that (followup) show. My head was still spinning.
(Also the night before this show, the day after I got back, I saw The Real MacKenzies at the Albert. I figured we could probably play only the new Live DKM album plus The Reals & still fill all our new & Canadian quota!)

Dropkick Murphys - Intro
Dropkick Muprhys - The State of Massachusetts (I get chills..)
The Real MacKenzies - The Skeleton & The Tailor
The Cheiftains feat Sinead O'Conner - The Foggy Dew
The Dropkick Murphys - Spicy McHaggis Jig
The Angry Dragons - Love You Tonight
High Five Drive - Foreign Mantras Make Great Role Models
Brand New - Logan to Government Centre
Dropkick Murphys - Far Away Coast
Scott Nolan - No Bourbon Bad Radio
The Dreadoughts - The West Country
Wesli - Zile
Alkaline Trio - This Addiction
The Standells - Dirty Water
Hilltop Hoods - Dumb Enough
Dropkick Murphys - The Dirty Glass
The Mason Rack Band - Seen Her B4
Hollerado - Fake Drugs
Magnum KI - Tired
Dropkick Murphys - Bastards on Parade

Come all you losers you bastards and cheats
Vagrants and barflies down on the streets
Follow this path to salvation Vindication awaits!
We're marching on East Broadway streets tonight!!

The one thing I remember about this March 14th show, was that Charle$ & I let one slide with The Narcycist, some rapper who sounded interesting & raps about controversial topics, who we also had never heard before. We were really surprized. I thought there'd be alot of f-bombs, or n-bombs. But nothing! Plus it was really good!

The Burning Hell - Grave Situation Pt1
Scott Nolan - All Over Now
Motion City Soundtrack - My Favourite Accident
CR Avery - The Boxer Who Just Returned From London
The Crooked Brothers - Sunday Dress
Flight of the Conchords - Friends
Gomez - Where Ya Going?
Gomez - Catch Me Up
The Mason Rack Band - Tortured Soul
Kids on Fire - Grand Mystifier
Nestor Wynrush - Garbage Hill
Bike For Three - No Idea How
Magnum KI - Old Skool
The Narcycist - Nothing's Fair in Love & War
The Bottoms Up Blues Gang - Walkin Woman
Wesli - Doudou
Meisha & The Spanks - Mmmmade For Me
Hollerado - Do The Boot Do Doot Do
B A Johnston - The Manatee is my Totem Animal
Hot Water Music - Better Sense
The Bottoms Up Blues Gang - Everybody's Cryin Mercy

On this one, March 7th, Charley was back home for the weekend, so my friend Jess cordiallyhosted along my side. We ended up doing a big ska segment, forgetting several choice bands, and not documenting most of what we played. Shit.
The first several songs were meticulously selected. I was so proud of my short playlist.

Astronautalis - The Story of my Life
Hilltop Hoods - Fifty in 5
CR Avery - Hell of a Hotel of Harm
Alkaline Trio - Take Lots with Alcohol
Riverboat Gamblers - Steer Clear
Against Me! - So Much More
Motion City Soundtrack - Back to the Beat
Streetlight Manifesto - Point/Counterpoint
The Sidewalks - A Better Way
The Afterbeat - People Before Profit
Big D & the Kid's Table - My Stupid Mind
The Toasters - Don't Let The Bastards Drag You Down
Idlers - Jiggerman
Subcity - Too Loud For This City
The Elixxers - Begin

Finally! All caught up on the ol' playlists. I'm tired & hungry now... This week will probably be Charlie solo because of Easter & the demands placed on me by my freakin family. Someone tell them Easter is on Monday.
